Overview

The MagPul G19 17rd Mag is Magpul’s PMAG 17 GL9, the full-capacity workhorse magazine for a 9mm GLOCK-pattern build. Seventeen rounds, all-polymer body over a stainless steel spring, and the same reliability record that made PMAGs the default rifle magazine before Magpul brought the design to pistols.

In a G19-length grip like the G80 Grip Module it runs a little long and extends below the grip line, which buys you two extra rounds over a 15 and a full grip for larger hands. If you would rather have a flush fit, the MagPul G19 15rd Mag is the same magazine in the shorter body.

Indicator windows on both sides confirm a full load, the controlled-tilt follower locks the slide back on the last round, and the flared floorplate comes off by hand for cleaning. Designed and made in the USA.

Features

High-visibility follower keeps the stack square and locks the slide back on an empty magazine

Corrosion resistant, and rated for the round counts a training magazine sees

Windows on both sides confirm a full load without pulling the magazine apart

No sticking on a reload, whether the magazine is full or spent

Ridged edges give a positive grip, and the plate comes off for cleaning

Molded dot grid for marking magazines so range mags and carry mags stay separated

MagPul G19 17rd Mag FAQ

Yes. The G80 Grip Module uses GLOCK G19 Gen3 magazine well geometry, and Magpul specifies the PMAG 17 GL9 for full-size 9mm GLOCK handguns as well as compact and sub-compact frames with some protrusion below the grip. It seats, feeds and drops free in the standard G80 Grip Module and in the Matador Arms module.

The PMAG 17 GL9 is built around the G17 grip length, so in the G80 Grip Module the body extends below the grip line. Most builders treat that as a feature on a range magazine, since it fills out the grip and gives you something to pull on. For a flush magazine, use the MagPul G19 15rd Mag instead.

The 17 is the closest thing to a standard full-capacity magazine and is the better all-rounder. The 21 adds four rounds and a longer body, and is built to the 140mm competition length. If you are buying magazines to train with, the 17 is the one to stack deep; if you are shooting a division that allows 140mm, the 21 is worth the extra length.

A factory GLOCK magazine is a steel body wrapped in polymer. The PMAG GL9 is all polymer over a stainless steel spring, which is lighter, will not rust from the inside if it gets wet, and does not dent. You also get indicator windows, a dot matrix for marking, and a flared floorplate that is easier to strip on a malfunction. Magpul builds them in the USA.

Yes. The GL9 uses a high-visibility controlled-tilt follower that engages the slide stop on the last round, the same as a factory magazine.

Yes. The reinforced polymer body is designed to hold its dimensions under spring pressure, and the stainless spring will not take a set from being compressed. Storing PMAGs loaded is normal practice.

The floorplate is removable by hand. Depress the retainer through the hole in the plate, slide the plate off the front of the body, and keep a thumb on the spring as it releases. Reassemble in reverse. Do not oil the inside of the body; a dry wipe is what you want.

Yes. Magpul designs and manufactures the PMAG GL9 line in the United States.

Magpul notes that the PMAG 17 GL9 may require modification for the G19X, and that it is not guaranteed in non-GLOCK platforms that copy the magazine well, since magwell dimensions vary between manufacturers. In a genuine GLOCK-pattern frame such as the G80 Grip Module it fits as designed.

No. This is a 9x19mm magazine only. The G80 platform supports G23 and G32 Gen3 components, but those calibers need their own magazines. Match the magazine to the slide and barrel you are running.

Yes. Magazine capacity limits vary by state and by city, and we do not ship into jurisdictions that prohibit them. The shipping restrictions table further down this page lists every destination we cannot ship to. Check it before ordering, and check your local ordinance as well, since some restrictions are narrower than the state.
