Overview
The G80 Build Kit brings together everything you need to start your 80% pistol project, no hunting for parts, no compatibility headaches, no guesswork.
This complete kit includes the G80 Unfinished Receiver, G80 Polymer Jig, and G80 Grip Module. Three precision-engineered components designed to work together seamlessly. Whether you’re a first-time builder or adding to your collection, you’ll have what you need to get started the moment it arrives.
Every component is Made in USA and backed by the Supreme Court’s VanDerStok decision. At the center of the build is a steel fire control unit, not a polymer frame, which is what separates a finished G80 from the polymer 80% pistols it replaces. Skip the parts-sourcing rabbit hole and get building.
What’s in the G80 Build Kit

G80 Unfinished Receiver
The Heart of Your Build
A precision-machined steel fire control unit that integrates the locking block, trigger housing, and slide rails into one monolithic unit. Heat-treated 4140 steel with nitride finish for strength that polymer can’t match.
- 4140 Heat-Treated Steel
- Black Nitride Finish
- G19 Gen3 Compatible
- Integrated Slide Lock
- Captive Trigger Housing
- 120R Grip Compatible
G80 Polymer Jig
Precision Finishing Made Simple
The injection molded jig system that guides you through completing your receiver. Precision steel drill bushings are embedded at every drill location and steel dowel pins secure the receiver tightly to the jig, so it delivers the accuracy of our aluminum jig at a much lower price. Built for repeated use, with the rotary and drill bits included.
- Injection Molded
- Embedded Steel Drill Bushings
- Steel Dowel Pin Registration
- Multiple Use System
- Rotary and Drill Bits Included
- Minimal Heat Transfer

G80 Grip Module
Where Steel Meets Ergonomics
The 120R-compatible polymer grip module that houses your finished receiver. Designed for comfortable shooting and easy customization, swap colors or print your own from the open-source 120R ecosystem.
- Reinforced Polymer
- 120R Standard Compatible
- Ergonomic Grip Angle
- Multiple Colors Available
- Drop-In Receiver Fit
- Swappable & Customizable

What You’ll Need to Complete Your Build
The G80 Build Kit gives you the foundation. Here’s what else you’ll source to finish your pistol.
G80 Build Kit FAQ
This kit includes three components: the G80 Unfinished Receiver (steel FCU with pins and slide lock spring), the G80 Polymer Jig (with its rotary tool collet, drill bits, and grinding media), and the G80 Grip Module in your choice of color. Together, these form the complete foundation for your G80 pistol build.
Only the jig. Both kits ship the same G80 Unfinished Receiver and the same G80 Grip Module. This kit includes the injection molded G80 Polymer Jig, which uses embedded precision steel drill bushings and steel dowel pins to hold the same drill accuracy as our aluminum jig at a lower price. The Polymer Jig is a manual jig, so if you plan to finish on a Ghost Gunner GG3-S, choose the Aluminum Build Kit instead.
The Build Kit provides the G80-specific components, but you’ll still need a few additional parts to complete your pistol: a G19 Gen3 slide assembly (or slide, barrel, and recoil spring separately), a lower parts kit, magazines, and a Dremel or comparable rotary tool. All of these are widely available from aftermarket suppliers.
The Build Kit is priced below the combined retail of all three components purchased individually. Exact savings depend on your grip module color selection, but every kit configuration offers a discount compared to separate purchases, plus you get everything in one shipment.
Yes. The G80 system was designed specifically to comply with the VanDerStok standard established by the Supreme Court in March 2025. The kit ships without all necessary components, requires uncommon tools, and takes over an hour to complete. Meeting all three criteria for federal legality. Note: G80 does not ship to states that have banned privately made firearms.
The G80 accepts any OEM or aftermarket Glock G19, G23, or G32 Gen3 components. This includes complete slides, barrels, recoil springs, and frame parts kits. Gen3 through Gen5 magazines are all compatible. The G80 includes its own trigger pin, trigger housing pin, and slide lock spring, these replace the corresponding parts from standard Glock lower parts kits.
Absolutely. The G80 uses the 120R grip module standard, so your finished receiver can drop into any 120R-compatible grip. Buy additional colors from G80, or explore the open-source 120R ecosystem to 3D print custom grips.
Steel fire control units offer superior durability, tighter slide-to-frame fit, zero flex under recoil, and virtually unlimited service life. The G80’s monolithic design eliminates the rail alignment issues common with multi-piece polymer frames. For builders who prioritize long-term reliability and precision over weight savings, steel is the clear choice.
Lead times vary based on component availability. Check the product page above for current stock status on each item in the kit. If any component shows limited availability, consider ordering soon, G80 products move fast and restocks can take time.
Under current federal law, privately made firearms built for personal use do not require serialization. However, state laws vary significantly, some require serialization of all PMFs, others prohibit unfinished receivers entirely. G80 does not ship to restricted states. Always verify your local regulations before purchasing.
